Capital Letters (London) Ltd is a not-for-profit social enterprise set up by a group of London Boroughs to prevent homelessness and procure temporary accommodation for homeless families from the private rented sector across the Capital. The company has seconded staff from participating boroughs as well as recruited a larger team. The company leases properties from private owners and arranges tenancies both to prevent homelessness and to discharge boroughs' duties to families who have already become homeless. I led the establishment of the company, securing £38m grant from the MHCLG, signing up 13 boroughs in the first phase and leading the set up of company staffing, IT procurement and operating procedures, as well as chairing the Board of Directors.
